Congrats on submitting a transfer through Gazelle! That is one of the first steps of getting rolling with Gazelle! Let's talk about what to expect from here.
As of right now, our home screen does not show pending incoming transactions. But don't worry your transfer is still coming! Transfers take 2-3 business days to arrive in your bank account. There are a couple factors that may make it feel longer. First, transfers that are initiated outside ACH cutoff hours will begin processing the next day. This is around 6-7pm EST depending on how the transfer is processed. So, if your transfer went through later than that your transfer will not begin till the following day. Secondly, transfers do not process on weekends or federal holidays. More on that to come.
Once it begins, think of the first day as day zero. Then each following day will be the sequential number. So, if Tuesday is day zero then Friday will be day three. Do note that weekends and federal holidays do not count in this process. Lastly, know that the money should leave your external account about 1-2 days before entering your Gazelle Account. This is normal and you can rest assured your money is not just floating and a virtual limbo.
If you don't like longer transfer time of ACH then we recommend checking out direct deposit! You can deposit your whole paycheck into Gazelle, or a lot of employers will allow you to deposit partial paychecks into your Gazelle Account. This would be an easy way to ensure your card will be funded not only on time but up to 1-2 days before your payday1!
1 Faster funding claim is based on a comparison of the Pathward, National Association, policy of making funds available upon receipt of payment instruction versus the typical banking practice of posting funds at settlement. Fraud prevention restrictions may delay availability of funds with or without notice. Early availability of funds requires payor’s support of direct deposit and is subject to the timing of payor’s payment instruction.
